The company is based in America with headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded by brothers Jerry and Mark Silverman in 1977, American Eagle is a subsidiary of Retail Ventures, Inc. It is also the parent company of Aerie, which is a women’s intimate wear and lifestyle retailer.
American Eagle Outfitters has 940 physical stores spread across various countries such as Canada, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, India, South Korea, UAE, Egypt, Russia, Japan, Israel, Mexico, China, Indonesia, Greece, etc. The company also operates online and sells merchandise in these locations via E-commerce platforms as well as its own website.
American Eagle Return Policy
Being one of the most prominent clothing and lifestyle brands all over the world, American Eagle Outfitters is known for its durable and high-quality products. However, if still due to some reason the customers wish to return or exchange the product that they purchased in-store or via online platforms then they can conveniently do so according to the American Eagle Return Policy.
American Eagle In-store Return Policy
If you are not satisfied with your purchase then you can return the purchased item for a full refund. All the items are eligible for return and exchange except swimsuits or bikini bottoms without their hygienic liner. If you wish you return your swimsuit or bikini bottoms, then the hygienic liner must be intact.
You can also return American Eagle products at Aerie or Tailgate and vice versa.
American Eagle Online Return Policy
If you wish to return the products that you brought online via E-commerce platforms or AE Live App then you can ship the products back to the company. It is more preferable if you send it back with the original packaging.
In view of the pandemic, exchanges via mail are put on hold for the time being. If you want to replace the product then you can simply return the one you purchased and place a new order.
You can select the items that you want to return on the online portal and print the shipping label for the same to be included in the mail.
- If your selected items are qualified for free returns then, you can mail them back to American Eagle with no additional cost for the label.
- If the selected items are not qualified for free returns then you can still send them back using a label but it will cost you a $5 fee to cover the shipping costs.
Items not eligible for returns are swimsuits and bikini bottoms without their hygienic liner. You can also return your online purchased products at any American Eagle store in the United States.
American Eagle Return with Receipt
At the time of return, you must carry proof of purchase with you, that is a receipt, invoice, or confirmation mail. If you are returning the item brought via an online platform then you can also give proof of purchase with your order confirmation page, order details page, or order emails. If you paid more than the posted price of a particular product then you will be refunded the difference. In any case, if it appears to be a fraud, your item will be not be accepted for a return and you will not receive compensation of any kind.
You can bring your purchased item to any American Eagle, Aerie, or Tailgate store in the US for free exchange and returns.
American Eagle Return without Receipt
If you lost your receipt, you can also bring confirmation email or order page details as proof of purchase. If you no longer have access to that as well, then you will be credited the current price of the product with an AE gift card. This gift card can be used at American Eagle Outfitters, Aerie, and Tailgate. If the returned item was shipped to you, then the shipping fee will not be included in the refunded amount.
American Eagle Clearance Sale Return Policy
For you wish you initiate a return process on items brought during a clearance sale then you are eligible to do so. The refunded amount will be the same as the amount you purchased the item for.
American Eagle Refund Policy
For Online Orders
If you are returning the product you purchased online via mail, then you can expect a refund on your returned items in 2 to 4 weeks. Upon receiving the returned items, American Eagle will send you a confirmation email for the amount being processed. Once the refund is initiated, the money will be credited to your account in 5 to 7 business days.
For Offline Returns
The amount of your returned items will be initiated immediately on your original mode of payment. You can expect the amount to be credited to your account in 7 to 14 business days depending on your bank. If you paid using cash, then you will receive your refunded amount via cash upon the return.
